Costs Of Services
The cost of services (COS) will vary according to the services you need and select. However, the standard method employeed by the majority of Auctioneers to determine COS is based on a combination of ‘commission plus incurred expenses’ basis.
I believe the ‘commission plus expenses’ method is a fair and reasonable way to determine COS. Unlike a ‘flat rate, one cost covers everything’ method, it assures a reasonable cost of sales to the Seller and a fair payment for ‘servies rendered’ to the Auctioneer.
Generally, there is no pre-payment required and payment for auction services is collected from the sale of the items in your auction. The amount to be deducted from Sell proceedes includes commissions and any marketing and incindental expenses.*
Remember . . .
My services don't cost you money -
They make you a profit!
* Incidental costs generally are able to be estimated and discussed in advance. The types of incidental costs that might or could occur would include: property and/or equipment repairs and/or preparation, site preparation or in the case of the use of a public facility - the rental cost, and various other 'Day of Sale' costs for additional services such as tents, entertainment, additional labor, etc. -- again these are generally discussed in advance.
What You Should Know About An Auction
Auctions are prime examples of American Competative Capitalism at its Best! The two basic functions of an Auction are: To sell something for “as much as the market will bare” and; To buy something for “as least amount as possible.”
All information as to descriptions of auctioned items including properties, goods, real estate and/or property, real or otherwise, including any dimensions and/or descriptions, as well as other information provided either prior to or on the day of the Auction, are provided by or on behalf of the Seller. In turn, said information may be used by the Auctioneer and may also be made available and/or provided to the Buyer. In some instances, this may include information previously published by the manufacturer. However, said manufacturer information may or may not be current.
Further, such information supplied is subject to possible variations or changes including errors and ommissions beyond the control of the Auctionner and/or the Seller. In rare instances said information or even the items themselves may be withdrawn prior to Auction without prior notice. All announcements on day of Auction, supersede any and all prior announcements.
Prior to making an offer or bid, prospective buyers should and are encouraged to inspect property and where provided and applicable, review any and all documents in accompanying Bid Package. ALL SALES ARE FINAL!
In the case of Real Estate or High Dollar personal property items being sold, special pre-sale finacial qualification, bonding and/or payment arrangements may be required. Unless otherwise announced on the day of Auction, all payments are to be made in cash unless Buyer has been pre-qualified with the Auctioneer.
Note: It is always best to inquire about payment requirements at least five days prior to the Auction. Contact T. P. today.
